10 mistakes of DIYers |
 |
By Pat Curry, Bankrate.com
From
skimping on supplies to using the wrong paint, here are the top
home-remodeling gaffes -- and how to avoid them.
Either way, the reason for that is the same.
DIYers make mistakes. Lots of them. The good news is that you can
learn a lot from mistakes. For example, whatever it was that my
husband did to make all the outlets in the kitchen blow at the
same time -- don't do that again. The bad news is that mistakes
always wind up making your home-improvement project more expensive
and more time-consuming than you want it to be.

Design Ideas for Your Remodeling Project |

You want to change
the look and feel of your house, but you also want your remodeling job to look
fresh for a number of years while complementing the existing features of your
home. How do you choose the right project and design for you and your family?
First, make sure you take your
family’s lifestyle into account when selecting an area of your home to
remodel. For example, if you get a lot of traffic through the house, consider
hardwood floors. Families who frequently entertain in the kitchen may want to
expand the room and add an island or some comfortable chairs. If your bathroom
is the place where you escape the world, add a whirlpool tub or a deluxe shower.

Review: Little Bangkok |
 |
While
this restaurant has been around for many years, still many people
have never heard of it. You’ve probably driven
by it many times, but never noticed it. Located on Cheshire
Bridge Road near Lindberg and Lavista, Little Bangkok offers both
Chinese and Thai menus. I normally get the Won Ton Soup and
Pad Thai…they are the best in Atlanta.
